The case of cheating/ fraud has been registered in Bangalore Police by the NEET-UG 2018 aspirants. Various fake agencies have duped NEET aspirants and promised MBBS Seats in Bangalore without counselling/ back-door. The Bengaluru Police have claimed that nearly 40 parents have been tricked to given MBBS seats in Govt. Medical College.
As per the MCI Guidelines, admission in MBBS course in MCI controlled Medical College (Govt or private) is only made through NEET-UG Scorecard. Once you qualify the NEET, you are either called for counseling by MCC if u are the claimant for the All India Quota or by the State Counselling committee. There is no other way to get admission in medical colleges.
The Asst. Commandant of a Para Military Force, West Bengal has cheated with Rs 9.2 lakh. Some person “Subhashith Pati” introduced himself officer at KEA. He told him that his son has got admission in BMCRI (Bangalore Medical Colleges and Research Institute). To complete the admission formalities Pati called him in Bengaluru on 8 August 2018. The initial payment of Rs 20,000 was made there. Next day, Pati asked Rs 5,00,000 for admission fee/ development charges including Rs 4,00,000 of admission fee. He transferred money online to the Pati. When he reported the colleges, his son name was not in the admission list. When he tried to call Subhashith Pati, his mobile number of switched off. So this was the first case of reported fraud.
In the similar case, an IT Engineer based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu was approached by an agent. He then, confirmed that MBBS seat will be available for Rs 62 lakh, The IT Engineering received a call from agent office (fake) and asked him to come to an office on Cunningham Road in the city on 27 August 2018.
For admission in MBBS Govt College, they have asked Rs 62 lakh in two installments. The Initial payment of 6.5 on 27 August and remaining on 29 August 2018.
As there was fraud going, so he received a call on 28 August 2018 and was told to complete the payment today itself otherwise seat will be not available. He paid the complete 62 lakh for MBBS seat. Next day when he went to the office first visited. The entire set up had changed and they had vanished leaving any trace.
This incident took place in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Due to the poo NEET-UG score 2018, the candidate was approached by Manoj Das. He introduced himself as an officer in Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The deal of seat was fixed in 11.6 lakh and initial payment of Rs 3.2 was made in Cuttack, Odisha to book MBBS Seats.
Later the father of applicant was called in Bengaluru to complete the payment. Here payment of RS 8.4 was completed and father was asked to go hometown and join college on 30 August 2018. But when he came back to the BMCRI, in admission cell his name was not in the list.
